Relocation, refurbishment and modernization of a methanol plant from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Charleston WV, USA; 2018-Present
Location: Charleston, West Virginia, USA
Services: Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering. Construction Managment, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning, Operating Team training (DCS/ SIS logic and control strategies)
Responsibilities:
Revise existing and develop new P&IDs.
Emergency Shutdown System (SIS) (CEMS, logic narratives, boolean logic, programming and full testing).
Distributed Control System (DCS) (Narratives, logic diagrams, programming and full testing).
Replacement of all old pneumatic field instrumentation with new electronic instrumentation.
Replacement of all analytical systems.
Support site work as required (construction QA/QC, commissioning and startup).
Manage Site I&E subcontractor with manpower in the range of between 100 – 200 field technicians.
Manage all purchasing for new Instrumentation, including but not limited to the following:
Creation of RFQs including in particular all technical specifications and other attachments.
Bid Tabulation Review and Purchase Order award recommendation.
WIE also took over the complete electrical design and support part way through the project (90% Engineering Complete) after USM ran into difficulties in this discipline.
WIE continues to provide remote support to USM for this site for the control systems and electrical discipline.
